PROFESSORSHIP
Dr. and Mrs. Donald Pellar
The Marcia S. and Donald H. Pellar Visiting Professorship in Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Florida was established through a generous endowment gift from Dr. and Mrs. Donald Pellar of Jacksonville, Fla. Mayo Clinic in Florida is honored to host this edition of this important education event.
Dr. and Mrs. Pellar are longtime patients of Mayo Clinic, and their generous philanthropy has touched all aspects of our mission. Their support includes: fellowships, lectureships and research into urology, neurology and cancer initiatives based at our Arizona campus; the Mayo Clinic Arizona Simulation Center; the Lehner Lab in the Johnson Research Building; and the Mayo Clinic Specialty Building. Dr. and Mrs. Pellar are recognized as Mayo Clinic Principal Benefactors, Mayo Alumni Laureates and members of The Doctors Mayo Society. For Dr. Pellar, an alumnus of Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, education has long served as a profession and a vocation. In addition to training in the neurology residency at Mayo Clinic, he completed a fellowship in neurology, specialized in EEG testing and subsequently held medical positions in Florida, Arkansas and Texas. He practiced medicine for many years before making the decision to venture into the real estate business. Mayo Clinic is grateful for the partnership of Dr. and Mrs. Pellar. Through their generosity, they facilitate an important exchange of knowledge that helps physicians, staff and students from Mayo and throughout the Jacksonville community gain important new insights. Their ongoing commitment helps ensure medical education of the highest standard, and fortifies our mission to deliver the best care to every patient, every day.
