Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

The following course will provide an overview of the sections of Pennsylvania’s mortgage licensing and anti-predatory lending laws that establish the required conduct and prohibited practices for mortgage professionals working in the state. The portions of the lending laws reviewed in this course represent the primary compliance concerns that mortgage professionals face on a daily basis. These professionals include Pennsylvania’s mortgage brokers, lenders, loan correspondents, and loan originators.

In Pennsylvania, licensees are supervised and regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities. As the regulatory authority for participants in the state’s mortgage loan industry, the Department of Banking and Securities also writes regulations to implement the provisions of the Mortgage Licensing Act and the Mortgage Bankers and Brokers and Consumer Equity Protection Act. The following review of required conduct and prohibited practices will include a look at the provisions of these regulations as well as those contained in the law.
