Overview / Abstract:

New technologies have been developed for taking design projects from concept to prototype, but design studios continue to build models and prototypes by hand. Models, mock-ups, and prototypes are among the most effective tools designers use for studying and developing design concepts before actual construction begins. The special skills required for this kind of work are important for any designer who plans to work in interior design, architecture, or product design. Students work on a range of projects, from creating architectural and interior design models to prototyping products, and are encouraged to develop their ideas by using a variety of materials and handworking
methods. Limited to 16. Open to Non-Credit and Certificate Students. Open to Degree students with permission of program
