Emory Practical Intervention Course-Southeast Consortium (EPIC-SEC) 2016

Overview / Abstract:	Inviting all healthcare professionals practicing cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery and vascular surgery! Join us for the Emory Practical Intervention Course-Southeast Consortium (EPIC-SEC) 2016, the premier event in the practice of cardiovascular medicine. For its 35th anniversary, the consortium will take place March 3-5, 2016 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. EPIC-SEC 2016 will introduce cutting-edge strategies in coronary, structural heart, and peripheral vascular imaging, physiology, and intervention. Distinguished faculty from fifteen academic medical institutions, along with dozens of other key opinion leaders, will share their wisdom and insights through live case demonstrations, lectures, presentations, discussions of complex cases, and debates. This conference is designed for interventional cardiologists, cardiac and vascular surgeons, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, interventional radiologists and other healthcare professionals interested in the optimal practice of interventional and structural cardiovascular medicine. Upon completion of this conference, participants should be better able to: • Identify new approaches to the optimal performance of the coronary, cardiac and peripheral interventions • Compare innovative new strategies for prevention of restenosis including drug-eluting stents and balloons • Describe factors contributing to the development of stent thrombosis and strategies for prevention • Assess the latest developments in valvular heart disease and circulatory support including transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVRs) • Utilize transcatheter mitral valve replacement and repair systems • Evaluate and manage microvascular and vasospastic disease • Differentiate and select among FFR, IFR, IVUS and OCT to determine best application for the patient's needs For more information, including details about registration, please visit http://www.eccri.emory.edu/epic/index.html.
