Overview / Abstract: |
Psoriasis is an inflammatory, autoimmune disorder with predominately joint and skin symptoms characterized by scaling and erythematous plaques that may be painful or severely pruritic, and may cause significant quality of life issues. Affecting 2% to 3% of the general population, psoriasis is linked to other serious conditions such as cardiovascular disease, psoriatic arthritis, and depression. Although there are multiple agents approved for the treatment of psoriasis, many patients still do not achieve optimal outcomes demonstrated by clear or almost clear skin. In addition, many patients are dissatisfied with their current treatment for psoriasis. In this short 25-minute CME Outfitters activity - or "CMEO Snack" - expert faculty provide insights and recommendations about current and emerging psoriasis treatments and management of comorbidities. |
