Overview / Abstract: |
Patients with mental illness are at higher risk for adverse events including suicide, lack of medication adherence, and less likely to seek help during relapse. As pressure to discharge increases in addition to treatment plans, patients with mental illness must also have a safety plan beyond the length of hospitalization that makes the patient an equal participant and involves their entire care team, including family members. In this CME Outfitters Snack, expert faculty will discuss safety for patients with mental illness, how clinicians can help develop plans for after discharge and resources to prevent adverse events such as suicide. |
