Cardiovascular Update: Practical Concepts and Advancements

Overview / Abstract:	Conference Overview: Heart disease remains the number one killer of Americans. Stroke ranks fourth and is a leading cause of severe disability in adults. Some forms of cardiovascular disease affect more than one in every three adult Americans. It is imperative for primary care clinicians to remain up-to-date on knowledge, practice guidelines and medical skills of the ever-changing and improving cardiovascular delivery system. Cardiovascular Update will provide up-to-date information on evidence-based medicine, including practical concepts and advancements in cardiovascular disease. The format includes lectures, panel discussions, lunch-and-learn sessions, an early-bird session on wellness, maintenance of certification (MOC) and time for dialogue with the experts. Educational Objectives: Following this learning activity, participants will be able to: - Describe contemporary therapeutic and diagnostic approaches to a variety of common cardiovascular conditions - Select appropriate therapies in the treatment of heart failure, hypertension, chronic coronary disease, peripheral vascular disease and atrial fibrillation - Recognize and appropriately evaluate cardiovascular emergencies - Discuss prevention strategies and lifestyle modification to improve the well-being of your patients
