The Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy requires that pharmacists engaged in or overseeing sterile products compounding obtain additional education specific to this area in order to maintain their licensure. Among the items these pharmacists need to know are how FDA lists of compounding drugs can be utilized in daily compounding operations and how to evaluate appropriate air, surface temperature, and pressure monitoring methods to be in compliance with state and federal regulations. Interactive learning will be used to differentiate various sterilization methods used in sterile compounding. At the completion of this activity, the participant should be able to: -Modify their pharmacy's practice to assure compliance with FDA approved compounding lists for medium and high-risk compounding. This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists who are engaged in or oversee sterile products compounding practices. MCPHS University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. |
