The pharmacy profession has a long tradition of respect and trust by the general public. As health professionals, it is important that pharmacists maintain the highest standards of honesty, integrity and ethical behavior. Members of the pharmacy profession bear the responsibility to adhere to the professional, ethical, and legal standards prescribed for the practice of pharmacy. A pharmacist has a duty to tell the truth and to act with conviction of conscience. A pharmacist avoids discriminatory practices, behavior or work conditions that impair professional judgment, and actions that compromise dedication to the best interests of patients. This session will challenge the participants to review case scenarios and select the most ethical course(s) of action. Learning Objectives -List the main recognized principles of pharmacy ethics |
