Overview / Abstract: |
The rapid evolution of treatment advances in mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) make treatment a complex and challenging proposition. Though several randomized, controlled trials on the use of targeted agents in MCL and CLL have been conducted, there are limited published, randomized data providing definitive guidance on treatment selection, duration of treatment, management of treatment-related toxicities, and disease outcomes across different lines of therapy. In this Clinical Callout activity, you will be presented with patient vignettes that highlight symptoms, risk factors, medical histories, and other considerations that potentially influence the course of treatment and monitoring of patients with CLL and MCL. Your challenge: assess each patient’s symptoms, risk factors, and medical histories and choose the most appropriate next step from several possible clinical strategies. But be careful: only one option reflects current best practice! This activity has been developed to help clinicians involved in the management of patients with MCL and CLL effectively apply the newest available tailored treatments while considering such clinical features as: -The implications of serum, molecular, and cytogenetic biomarkers on patient prognosis |
