Improving Access to Hemophilia Therapies

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

While there are many new and emerging therapies for hemophilia, prior authorization (PA) levies a significant burden on hematologists and their team, often resulting in delayed access to appropriate treatments. However, these delays can often be avoided through improved documentation and enhanced provider-payer communication.

The second module in this CME Outfitters Snack series on prior authorization for hemophilia features expert faculty reviewing provider and payer insights into best practices for streamlining the prior authorization process to improve patient access to hemophilia therapies.

We encourage learners to complete all 3 CME Snacks in this series to receive a Certificate of Excellence in Prior Authorization.

At the end of this CE activity, participants should be able to:
-Implement strategies to streamline the PA and appeals process through improved documentation and enhanced provider-payer communication.

The following learning objectives pertain only to those requesting CNE or CPE credit:
-Describe strategies to streamline the PA and appeals process through improved documentation and enhanced provider-payer communication.
