Oral Therapy for Outpatient Management of Multiple Myeloma: Options for the COVID-19 Era

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Oncology health care providers (HCPs) who manage patients with multiple myeloma (MM) face new challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic—in particular, the need to balance the risk of delaying or altering MM therapy against the risk of disease progression in a patient population that is practicing social distancing and is at high risk of complications (or worse) from COVID-19. Successfully confronting these challenges will require oncology HCPs to adjust some practice strategies (eg, relying on telemedicine visits; altering treatment choices to minimize patients’ COVID-19 exposure risk while keeping their MM in remission). Ultimately, to be able to achieve the best possible outcomes, oncology HCPs require new, adaptable, responsive guidance to individualizing MM treatment.

In this webcast, a panel of renowned clinical MM experts provides timely support and guidance to oncology HCPs on how to respond to the needs of MM patients in the current COVID-19 public health emergency.
