Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward family practice providers who treat patients who are candidates for HPV vaccination. Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals interested in HPV vaccination are invited to participate.

Activity Overview

This online, on-demand virtual symposium brings together renowned experts in human papillomavirus (HPV) disease and immunization. In this educational program, these experts discuss the burden of HPV-related diseases, the benefits of vaccination, and methods to reduce the barriers to HPV vaccine acceptance. The activity includes clinical cases that reinforce the topics covered in the program.

This educational activity is an archive of the live virtual symposium held on October 14, 2020.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Review recommendations for HPV vaccination with patients and caregivers to increase informed decision-making
Identify appropriate candidates for HPV vaccination, including the recently expanded group of patients aged 27 to 45 years
Counsel patients and caregivers on the risks and benefits of HPV vaccination to reduce barriers to administration
Discuss possible societal stigmas associated with HPV vaccination to improve vaccination confidence
