Overview / Abstract: |
The POCUS for Internal Medicine Live Training Course provides participants a strong foundation to perform and/or interpret all of the core ultrasound applications in an urban and rural internal medicine setting as outlined in the AAFP, ACEP, and WINFOCUS ultrasound practice guidelines. This course is taught by leading family medicine, internal medicine, and emergency medicine ultrasound experts and incorporates comprehensive lectures focused on outpatient and inpatient clinical applications, interactive case presentations, and extensive hands-on scanning sessions. The hands-on scanning sessions feature a 3:1 participant to faculty ratio with standardized patient models and inanimate phantoms to allow the learner to immediately integrate the skills learned into clinical practice. In this two (2) day program, participants will learn all the core ultrasound applications for Internal Medicine as outlined in the current AAFP guidelines. Each participant also receives scanning checklists for reference purposes and a case log of exams performed that may be used for credentialing and/or POCUS certification purposes. |
