In this CME video-based interview, Anna R. Giuliano, PhD discusses the incidence of HPV-related cancers and the effectiveness of HPV vaccination in preventing infections, precancerous lesions, and cancers. Dr. Giuliano also reviews available and changing vaccine recommendations and HPV vaccination in adults. This is the first of two educational activities on HPV-immunization and cancer prevention to be released in 2019.
This activity is intended for pediatricians, PCP’s, OB-GYNs, nurses, pathologists, ID specialists, and other healthcare practitioners involved in immunization to prevent HPV-related cancers.
The purpose of this activity is to educate diverse clinicians on the burden of HPV infections and recent data demonstrating the safety and population benefits of HPV vaccination in the prevention of HPV-related cancers. Armed with this information, clinicians can effectively counsel patients on the importance of vaccination.
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Outline recommendations for HPV vaccination in adolescents and adults
• Discuss the benefits of HPV vaccination on HPV-related cancer rates with patients
