Topical pharmacologic therapy is the primary treatment for patients with primary open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. However, in many patients multiple medications and different classes of drugs are often needed before there is adequate IOP control. After nearly a decade without new pharmacologic treatments, two new formulations were approved in late 2017.
