Course Learning Outcomes
After this course, participants will be able to provide a definition of an ethical dilemma.
After this course, participants will be able to explain the difference between morals and ethics.
After this course, participants will be able to list three ethical dilemmas that might present within the school setting.

Course Abstract
This course will highlight ethical dilemmas that may present in the school setting. Participants will be provided strategies to recognize and address ethical issues. The ASHA Code of Ethics, state licensure law, and state department of education regulation will be reviewed.

Wren Newman, SLP.D., CCC-SLP
Wren S. Newman, SLP.D., CCC-SLP is Executive Director for the Programs in Speech-Language and Communication Disorders at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She was named a Fellow of ASHA in 2006.

Dr. Newman recently served on ASHA’s Board of Ethics. She has previously served on the Academic Affairs Coordinating Committee of ASHA, served as the Coordinator of Division 11 – Administration and Supervision, and served on the Ad Hoc Committee on Supervision in Speech-Language Pathology.
