Acrylic Painting Basics

Overview / Abstract:

Limited to 16. In this introductory class, students gain an understanding of the qualities of acrylic paint. Learn how to control and mix acrylics and discover how the paint responds to canvas, paper, and other materials. Projects originate from found images as well as still lifes and encourage experimentation. The archival nature of the medium and artists primarily working in acrylic are also discussed.
