Overview / Abstract:

This class is geared to students who wish to build upon basic drawing skills. Selective observation, including working from the figure, is emphasized in order to develop an understanding of structure and form. Students explore composition, line quality, and spatial relationships while developing a personal form of expression. References to art history and contemporary art, one-on- one instruction, and demonstrations aid the learning process. Prerequisite: Drawing I or equivalent experience. Bring to first class an 18 ̋ × 24 ̋ newsprint pad and compressed charcoal. Limited to 16. Open to Non-Credit and Certificate Students. Open to Degree students with permission of program
