Overview / Abstract:

What should an artist’s portfolio look like in 2014? Does a website showcase your work best or is it important to show artwork on site? In this course, you learn how to assemble a cohesive portfolio by first reviewingthe work you have and identifying any gaps. Class discussions cover options for having your work professionally photographed versus shooting it yourself as well as preparinga digital portfolio to present to potential clients. A class trip to meet gallery curators and directors brings outside perspectives into the classroom. Prerequisite: Recommended for students in the final semester of certificate requirements or equivalent experience. Bring your current portfolio to first class. Limited to 16. Open to Non-Credit and Certificate Students. Open to Degree students with permission of program
