Overview / Abstract:

About the Webinar

Terrorist attacks, school shootings, natural disasters or accidents with numerous casualties have caused many to wonder how they would, or should, respond if a traumatic event occurred in one’s own community. As specialists in the field of death, dying and bereavement you may have felt an increased obligation to be prepared and able to respond. Yet perhaps you wonder “Where should I get some training? “How might I be most helpful?” “Will my organization support my interest?” Having participated in community crises at both the local and national level, Dr. Anewalt will address phases of crisis response, possible levels of involvement and questions to consider if you are interested in becoming more involved in responding to local or national incidents. Resources and options for further training will also be addressed.

Learning Objectives
1) Describe the phases of crisis response
2) Identify how – and when – one might respond to a community crisis
3) List at least three disaster response organizations to consider for further information and training
