SYNOPSIS:

Restoring the edentulous patient with an esthetic reconstruction may present numerous challenges to the clinician. The patient's occlusal vertical dimension, centric relation, esthetics and phonetics need to be determined and maintained throughout the restorative process. With the advent of dental implants, there are various treatment options available today to address the patient's esthetic and functional needs.

This course will discuss diagnosis and treatment planning for fixed implant supported reconstruction. A variety of treatment options and prosthesis designs will be introduced and the treatment sequence will be reviewed in a step-by-step simplified approach to provide a predictable outcome with esthetic implant reconstruction.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED:

MODULE I & II - Lecture
Diagnostic tools such as flangeless record base, wax-up, setup, intraoral mock-up and radiographic templates
Esthetic pontic design: horizontally submerged and fused pontic designs
Gingiva-colored ceramics design and technique
Provisionalization: fixed or removable?
Transitional implants to support provisional restorations
The conversion prosthesis as a treatment philosophy
Communication with the surgeon, laboratory and patient to obtain predictable results
Laboratory techniques and procedures
Surgical considerations
MODULE III - Hands-On Workshop
Conversion of Complete Dentures to Fixed Implant Restorations in One Clinical Visit
Faculty: Dr. Harel Simon; Dr. Joseph Field; Dr. Sheryl Regalado; Take Katayama, CDT

In this unique and exclusive course, participants will receive models of completely edentulous arches with implants and corresponding complete dentures. Each participant will convert a complete denture to a fixed implant supported provisional restoration. This technique is the core philosophy for a simplified approach for implant reconstruction. Mastering this technique simplifies the restorative sequence significantly and enhances the predictability of the treatment from an esthetic and functional point of view.

Upon completion, participants will receive these models for patient education and demonstration of full-mouth implant reconstruction.
