Overview / Abstract: |
Telepractice, providing treatment and services from a distance, represents a rapidly growing opportunity in the field of rehabilitation. This course will primarily focus on how to start or grow a telepractice. Practical skills, techniques, technology, and tools that a therapist can use to most efficiently and effectively use telepractice to treat patients and expand business will be discussed in detail. The course will demonstrate how to schedule, host, conduct and save notes for a telepractice treatment session. This course will also discuss administrative concerns such as professional, regulatory, and technological information relative to telepractice. Since these issues are changeable and fluid, resources on how to stay up to date will be provided. Participants will observe recorded demonstrations of service delivery to actual clients via telepractice. Techniques for creating and utilizing both authentic and made-for-telepractice materials and tools for inclusion of telepractice into a graduate CSD program will be addressed. The varied uses of videoconferencing beyond treatment will be emphasized including: supervision of graduates students and staff; team meetings; assessments; education; and promotion. |
