YouTube for Social Learning: Teaching the Complexities of Cooperation - Anna Vagin, PhD

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

The concept of cooperation is exceptionally complex, yet it underlies academic and social success. Many students with social learning challenges struggle to understand and demonstrate cooperation in the many contexts in which it is called for. This webinar will introduce several wonderful YouTube videos in which characters demonstrate various forms of cooperation, accompanied by structured activities to support students first in talking about the characters and then in talking about themselves. Activities to build cooperative abilities will be introduced, as well as visual supports to make the learning more effective. You will walk away with ideas you can immediately use.
