A Step Towards Informed Decision Making on Contraception: Resources for Patients

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

This initiative has been developed for patients in India and consists of 3 video blogs (Vlogs) and a patient discussion guide, to help patients learn more about contraception options and encourage then have informed discussions with their health care providers.

Listen to other patients’ points of view as they provide unique perspectives on making their contraceptive choices. In addition to these helpful videos, there is a companion patient discussion guide designed to help patients and their spouses/partners make informed decisions about family planning choices.

ACHL is partnering with IJCP Group, a leading healthcare communications company in India, as well as the Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI), and the India Medical Association (IMA).

The goals of these educational activities are to provide information to patients in India about contraception in order to: 1) improve patient knowledge of available methods of contraception for women across their reproductive lifespan, 2) dispel myths and misconceptions about contraception, and 3) improve participatory medicine/shared decision making.
