From Head and Shoulders to Knees and Toes: An Orthopedic Update for Primary Care

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Conference Overview:
Primary care clinicians are often the 1st point of contact in the health care system and play a major role in helping patients manage musculoskeletal conditions. Having up-to-date knowledge, practice guidelines and medical skills empowers primary care clinicians to provide accessible, costeffective care and improve patient outcomes.
From Head and Shoulders to Knees and Toes: An Orthopedic Update for Primary Care offers practical approaches to orthopedic problems and addresses the newest diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. The conference features new topics on pediatrics, common hand fractures, overuse conditions, management of the post-surgical patient, the new CDC Concussion Guidelines; and special sessions on “The Female Athlete” and “Pain Management.” Customized learning is possible by attending hands-on basic and advanced examination sessions, splinting workshops and optional lunch-and-learn sessions. Back by popular demand is “X-ray
Review and Unknowns” and “Learning Stations.” Time for questions and direct interaction with faculty will be available.
Early Bird Session — Therapeutic Yoga
Therapeutic yoga is a gentle yoga class with focus on breath, decreasing body tension and stress relief. We use slow, mindful movements that are helpful for nervous system regulation especially for those with limited mobility, persistent pain or recovering from injury. Indicate interest on the registration form.
