With the recent increase in the number of available insulin products comes dispensing challenges and risk for medication errors. It is vital that pharmacy technicians have a grasp of these products to promote their safe and effective use as part of the pharmacy team. This course delves into what pharmacy technicians should consider when entering insulin prescriptions, selecting insulin products from the shelf, and labeling insulin. Gain practical tips on correctly interpreting insulin prescriptions and discerning whether an injectable diabetes medication is categorized as insulin.
