New Insights into the Understanding of Thrombosis & Hemorrhage in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: Improving Patient Outcomes

Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:
The myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) are a group of hematologic malignancies that are associated with an extraordinary high incidence of thrombotic and hemorrhagic complications. In fact, these thrombotic events are the major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with MPNs. Despite the importance of these events, our understanding of the pathobiology of thrombosis and hemorrhagic events in this group of disorders is understood only to limited extent.
Thus, this meeting has been organized, bringing together a multidisciplinary group in the area of MPNs, with the goal of providing new insights in understanding the pathobiology of thrombosis and hemorrhagic events in this group of disorders. The program format includes presentations from 25+ experts in the field, as well as a number of group discussions, including the conclusion on Friday, which will be instrumental in outlining future directions and research agenda.

We invite you to join us and be a part of this unique gathering, which we hope will stimulate new collaborative research efforts, leading to an improved understanding of this important underserved scientific problem, and ultimately, to improved patient outcomes. The meeting is an unusual opportunity to make a difference scientifically and clinically.
