Overview / Abstract:
Join the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases (NFID) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) for a discussion on strategies to implement and assess antibiotic stewardship programs in healthcare settings on Thursday, May 30 at 12 PM ET.
NFID Director Sara E. Cosgrove, MD will moderate the webinar with presentations by Whitney Buckel, PharmD, System Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist Manager, Intermountain Healthcare, and Priya Nori, MD, Director, Antimicrobial Stewardship Program, Montefiore Medical Center, Einstein College of Medicine.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

-Explain how to conduct a needs assessment for implementing or expanding antibiotic stewardship activities
-Summarize strategies and tools to include in an antibiotic stewardship program
-Identify ways to involve key stakeholders in efforts to promote appropriate antibiotic use
-Discuss how to measure the impact of an antibiotic stewardship program with a focus on appropriate antibiotic use
