Overview / Abstract:

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After participating in the activity, the family
physician should be able to:
• Appropriately screen for the presence of
chronic kidney disease in patients with
type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
• Identify chronic kidney disease at an
early stage in patients with T2DM.
• Individualize evidence-based glucoselowering
therapy to slow the progression
of kidney disease in patients with T2DM
and chronic kidney disease.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Family physicians and clinicians who wish
to gain increased knowledge and greater
competency regarding primary care management
of diabetes mellitus and kidney
disease.
