Program Overview

During this Medical Crossfire® production titled “Cystic Fibrosis-Related Diabetes (CFRD): A Patient-Focused Approach to Early Recognition and Proper Treatment,” expert faculty will update the cystic fibrosis (CF) care team, specifically pulmonologists and endocrinologists, on the evolving landscape of screening, diagnosis, and treatment options for the management of patients with CF who have diabetes (CFRD). A unique aspect to this program is incorporating the patient perspective to provide insight into their experience along the continuum of care.
Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Review current data on the epidemiology of CFRD and the value of early diagnosis
Identify screening recommendations and guidelines for diagnosis of CFRD
Describe the use of CFTR-modulating therapies for management of CF
Explain guideline-recommended therapies for management of CFRD
Discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes of patients with CF and CFRD
