Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Conference Overview:
Health care for women requires up-to-date, gender-specific knowledge of disease prevention and disease management. This conference is designed to focus on the challenges clinicians face daily in their care of women in the primary care setting. Topics will focus on the most recent guidelines and effective approaches for screening, diagnosing and managing various conditions many women experience.

Women often seek care from their primary clinicians to help them feel healthy throughout their lives. For that reason, this conference is designed for family medicine physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners and health care professionals who need practical information to care for the unique health needs of women.

Educational Objectives:
Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:
- Apply the latest diagnostic, management and treatment strategies for improving women’s health
- Discuss the mostrecent updates and guidelines for ultrasound and fetal cardiac screening, HPV vaccination, use of mifepristone for cervical prep and breast cancer and genetic screening
- Manage conditions common in women such as gestational diabetes, breastfeeding issues and vaginal mesh concerns
