Target Audience
This online educational activity is directed toward primary care physicians, neurologists, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), nurses, and other health care professionals who are involved in the treatment of insomnia.

Statement of Need/Program Overview
This online activity is designed to provide a concise and focused overview on an important clinical topic and includes information on the complex disease pathophysiology and etiology of insomnia, the clinical presentation and diagnostic evaluation of patients with insomnia, and the efficacy and safety of therapies recommended for the management of chronic insomnia. The engaging, multimedia format of this program includes audio commentary from an expert thought leader integrated with text-based elements.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Evaluate the impact of insomnia on the patient’s quality of life
Recognize strategies for adequate diagnosis of insomnia
Assess the efficacy and safety data from clinical trials of approved and emerging agents
Develop patient-centered treatment approaches for optimization of patient outcomes
