Access Activity

Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of oncology nurses, including advanced practice nurses (APNs) and registered nurses (RNs). It will also benefit other clinicians who manage patients with Castleman disease.

Program Overview
This activity will cover the nuances of diagnosis and treatment of a rare disease known as Castleman disease as well as the important part that oncology nurses play in the day-to-day care of these patients. The activity will describe the various types of Castleman disease as well as what is known about the diagnosis and treatment of the condition. It will also provide a look at what the Castleman disease patients may go through from diagnosis to treatment and follow up. Then, using case studies, our Castleman disease experts will introduce learners to a couple of specific patients as they go through their own journeys toward treatment and follow up before providing some conclusions.
