Overview / Abstract: |
Over 50% of PLWH in the US are over age 50 and this is projected to increase to 60% by the end of the decade. Almost 20% of new HIV infections occur in this demographic yearly. Many of these patients are seen by healthcare professionals on a regular basis yet this population is often overlooked when considering testing for HIV. This module will review current guidelines and good standards of care around evaluation, testing, and treating the older person who might be living with or at risk for HIV. Using case studies and didactics, this free interactive CME/CNE-Certified webinar will provide members of the care team with tools and resources that will help them to provide better care for this population.
