Overview / Abstract: |
Target Audience This activity has been designed to address the educational needs of pulmonologists, radiologists, and pathologists. It may also benefit primary care physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, fellows, residents, and other allied healthcare providers who are interested or involved in the care of patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILDs). Program Overview Swift identification and optimal management of interstitial lung disease (ILD) has become a more urgent priority since with the emergence of COVID-19, which significantly increases the risk of complications and death in this vulnerable patient population. Join us for this timely educational initiative, featuring videos of the foremost ILD experts in the country demonstrating the multidisciplinary approach needed to arrive at an efficient differential diagnosis and optimal treatment, with a focus on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) versus connective tissue disease-related ILD. Video segments of patient perspectives will be shown throughout to highlight the high impact of IPF. Learning Objectives Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to: Differentiate idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) from other common ILDs, such as connective tissue disease ILD (CTD-ILD), accurately and efficiently using recommended clinical evaluation, radiologic testing, and pathologic testing as needed Introduction: The “Alphabet Soup” of ILDs |
