Overview / Abstract: |
This activity will feature a patient with Parkinson’s disease (PD) who has been experiencing progressive OFF episodes that are not responding to conventional therapeutic strategies and are having a negative impact on his activities of daily living and quality of life. The activity will review information that community neurologists need to know about PD motor fluctuations, including clinical manifestations, the role of gut absorption of levodopa on symptom patterns, the variety of established and newer therapeutic management strategies, and the need to involve patients in shared decision-making. |
