Clinical Consultations™: Expert Opinions on the Management of Ocular Health in Glaucoma – Updating the Armamentarium with Advances in Treatment

Activity Overview
This Clinical Consultations™ is a video-based program in which two experts use a case-based approach to discuss the treatment and management of glaucoma. In this activity, faculty focus on current topical agents and new and emerging sustained-release therapies for the management of glaucoma. This engaging format is designed to help clinicians identify best practices to slow disease progression while minimizing adverse effects of long-term treatment to improve outcomes for their patients with this silent, sight-threatening disease.

Describe current intraocular agents according to efficacy, safety, and preservative content
Identify common safety concerns of long-term use of benzalkonium chloride-containing medications on the conjunctiva, cornea, lens, and trabecular meshwork
Assess the efficacy and safety of alternative preservatives, preservative-free solutions and available sustained-release formulations for the treatment of intraocular pressure
