Activity Overview

This online educational activity is designed to provide expert interpretation of new data on the prevention of herpes zoster. Nearly a third of the United States’ population will develop shingles over their lifetime, and the risk of shingles increases with age. Emerging data on herpes zoster prevention in special populations, and best practices to implement shingles vaccination in your clinical practice will be presented in a multimedia format with a series of video interviews from an expert thought leader, integrated into text-based elements.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

Recognize the disease burden, cost of care, and long-term sequelae associated with herpes zoster infection
Review the administration characteristics, composition, and features of available shingles vaccines
Evaluate the efficacy data associated with available shingles vaccine
Develop therapeutic plans for administration of shingles vaccines in appropriate patient groups
