Overview / Abstract: |
Current news and literature often reference systemic racism, bias and a lack of health equity in the community. This course is designed to address these topics and more within the context of the health care setting. We will explore conscious versus unconscious bias and how it affects the health of patients and clinicians as well as cultural and racial barriers to health care. We will also present tools and programs that can be incorporated into practice to ameliorate inequities in the clinic or workplace. Teaching methods include lecture, panel discussion and Q&A with faculty. |
