Overview / Abstract: |
Target Audience Program Overview Migraine is a disabling neurological disorder and a major public health problem, affecting approximately 39 million individuals in the United States. However, only 3% to 13% of patients with migraine are on preventive therapy. Treatment of individual migraine episodes is important to prevent the progression to chronic migraine. Treatments for the prevention of episodic and chronic migraine are currently available, with new and emerging therapies on the horizon that will provide new options for safe and effective targeted treatment. In addition, lifestyle modifications and other strategies have been recommended to minimize the burden of migraine.
