Drs. Melissa Barnett and Mile Brujic define keratoconus and discuss the incidence of prevalence of keratoconus in refractive surgery patients. They also discuss diagnostic test criteria that should be used to identify keratoconus patients. They also discuss how genetic testing for keratoconus may help catch refractive surgery candidates who may be at risk for developing keratoconus. Discussion includes the future of genetic testing in todays optometric practice. |
