The impact on quality of life for patients with geographic atrophy (GA) is significant. This supplement reviews the prevalence of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), including advanced AMD (exudative and GA) as well as the pathogenesis of GA and the complex role of the complement system in GA development. The faculty members also discuss the latest clinical trial data for pipeline candidates targeting the complement pathways for the treatment of GA. This certified CME activity is designed for retina specialists who treat patients with retinal diseases. |
