Overview / Abstract:

This course helps you incorporate knowledge of prevalence of obesity, mitigate weight bias in clinical settings, utilize four motivational interviewing techniques in a clinical scenario, and identify the steps of the 5 A's Behavior Change model for lifestyle counseling in a clinical scenario.

Outcome Objectives:

As a result of completing this activity, the participant will be better able to:

- Incorporate into practice knowledge of prevalence of obesity in the U.S.
- List two strategies to mitigate weight bias in clinical settings.
- Utilize 4 motivational interviewing techniques in a clinical scenario.
- Identify the steps of the 5 A's Behavior Change model and apply these to lifestyle counseling in a clinical scenario.
