Advances In™ Overcoming Barriers to Diagnosis and Treatment of Helicobacter pylori Infections

Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational activity is directed primarily toward primary care providers, including advanced care practitioners (eg, nurse practitioners and physician assistants) and nurses. Gastroenterologists and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with H pylori infection are also invited to participate.

Program Overview
This online educational activity is designed to provide expert perspectives on the treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection, with a forward-looking perspective on how the use of novel agents may impact clinical practice. The essentials of diagnosis and first-line and refractory treatment of H pylori infection will be presented in a multimedia format, including a series of video interviews with an expert thought leader integrated into text-based elements.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Identify appropriate patients who should undergo testing for H. pylori infection.
Describe strategies to overcome current challenges to the successful eradication of H. pylori infection.
Apply evidence and patients' medical history, including antibiotic use, to the selection of appropriate therapies for H. pylori infection.
