Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other health care professionals who would be involved in treating NK.

Program Overview

This video-based program is designed for health care professionals to explore the diagnosis and treatment of neurotropic keratitis (NK) through a unique perspective, putting the patient voice front and center. A patient with NK will share her experiences. Expert faculty will share commentary on NK etiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnostic approach, efficacy and safety data of available therapies, and best practices for treatment of NK.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Describe the pathophysiology of NK as related to corneal sensory innervation
Classify the stages of NK based on corneal signs
Apply appropriate patient assessments to provide prompt diagnosis of NK
Assess the effect of therapy on the NK disease process
Discuss safety and efficacy data for approved and traditionally used therapies for NK
