Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational program is directed toward hematologists and hematologist-oncologists. Pediatricians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinicians involved in the management of patients with hemophilia are invited to attend.

Program Overview
Over the past 20 years, numerous advances in hemophilia treatment have allowed patients to take greater control of their condition. To continue capitalizing on these advances, hematologists must be educated about the evolving aspects of managing this disorder.

This CME activity brings together a renowned group of experts in the management of hemophilia A to review the health and economic burden the disorder places on patients and their families, the management of comorbidities, and updates on current and emerging therapies for hemophilia A.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Describe the clinical and economic burden of hemophilia on patients’ quality of life
Analyze results from clinical trials of currently available and investigational therapies for patients with hemophilia A
Apply evidence-based strategies for selecting therapies for patients with hemophilia A
Develop an individualized plan of care to manage comorbidities in patients with hemophilia A
