A Comprehensive Review of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (mCRC) Management: An Interprofessional Approach to Care

Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of oncologists, oncology nurses and pharmacists engaged in the care of patients with metastatic colorectal cancer.

Program Overview
This activity will address changes in treatment combinations and sequencing of regimens, as well as molecular markers that should be tested to guide therapy. Further, supportive care measures and continual monitoring based on their therapy to ensure optimal outcomes and minimize adverse effects from therapy.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, learners should be better able to:

-Describe guideline updates and newly approved medications that impact the treatment of patients with mCRC
-Identify biomarkers that can be used to help direct therapy for patients with mCRC
-Recognize, mitigate, and manage adverse events associated with standard and newer regimens for mCRC
-Implement an interprofessional approach to providing patient and caregiver counseling to reduce the risk of adverse events and complications and support optimal outcomes
