Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward sleep specialists, including neurologists, psychiatrists, pulmonologists, primary care clinicians, NPs, PAs, RNs and other HCPs involved in the management of patients with idiopathic hypersomnia.

Program Overview
This activity provides an overview of recent data on emerging options for the treatment of idiopathic hypersomnia, with a forward-looking perspective on how new and novel agents might impact clinical practice. An examination of diagnosis, disease impact, traditional treatment options, and a novel pharmacologic therapy will be presented in a multimedia format, including a series of video interviews with an expert thought leader integrated into text-based elements.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Describe clinical features that are associated with idiopathic hypersomnia
Discuss the impact of idiopathic hypersomnia on patients’ quality of life
Analyze traditional treatment options for patients with idiopathic hypersomnia
Identify novel therapies for the management of idiopathic hypersomnia
