Overview / Abstract:

Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward lysosomal storage disorders specialists, pediatricians, endocrinologists, cardiologists, nephrologists, primary care physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health care professionals who are involved in the care of patients with Fabry disease.

Program Overview
This online educational activity is designed to provide expert interpretation of new and emerging data on the treatment of Fabry disease, with a forward-looking perspective on how new and novel agents might impact clinical practice. The essentials of disease classification and molecular testing, clinical trial data, and current and emerging treatment strategies will be presented in a multimedia format, including a series of video interviews with expert thought leaders integrated into text-based elements.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

Describe the pathophysiology of Fabry disease causing renal and cardiac complications
Generate a differential diagnosis for patients with suspected Fabry disease
Evaluate clinical trial data for current, emerging, and investigational agents for the treatment of Fabry disease
Outline the role of the multidisciplinary team in managing cardiac and renal complications of Fabry disease
